Naturally Treating Mast Cell Tumor in Dogs the RIGHT Way

If we’re being honest, finding out that your precious dog has a mast cell tumor is no doubt one of the hardest things to hear. As a dog parent myself, just thinking about it already breaks my heart.

But here’s the thing, though. A lot of people seem to overlook the fact that canine mast cell tumors can be treated using natural means. And I’m going to walk you through how to do just that in this blog post.

Before we go over these natural options, let’s first find out what mast cell tumor is and how it affects your dog…

What is Mast Cell Tumor in Dogs?

At its simplest, a mast cell tumor can be described as a lump or chunk in a dog’s body that is made up of mast cells. It is crucial to keep in mind that mast cell tumors have different appearances. It may also take on the form of a red ulcer or a bump that grows in time.

Interestingly, mast cell tumors are not inherently bad, though. In fact, they play an important function in fighting off allergens that have somehow made their way inside a dog’s system. However, when mast cells become or behave abnormally, they clump together into a mass that eventually becomes a tumor.

Although they typically manifest as lumps and ultra-light patches on or beneath the skin, these tumors can also grow in a dog’s intestines. Sadly, mast cell tumors are considered as a cancerous growth in a dog’s body.

And like all types of cancers, the specific cause of mast cell tumors is still unknown.

The Possible Risk Factors linked with Dog Mast Cell Tumors

While it has been established that age, breed, as well as hereditary factors can make a dog more prone to cancer compared to others, the exact cause is still elusive until now. However, studies show that Boxers and Labrador Retrievers are the breeds that are very vulnerable to mast cell tumor.

If your dog belongs to these specific pedigrees, then it’s crucial to ensure that their immune systems are as strong as can be to ward off any serious illnesses like cancer. You can also read a more in-depth blog post on which breeds are prone to cancer in dogs by clicking here.

A simple yet very effective way of detecting mast cell tumor in dogs early

Before we continue to the next part of this blog post, let me just share one tip you can use to detect mast cell tumors in dogs immediately. See, regularly giving your dog a thorough once over can help detect any lumps that could already be an indication of mast cell tumor.

You can either do this in the form of a massage or play. What’s really interesting is that your beloved canine family member will consider this activity as a bonding moment between the two of you.

What’s your favorite way of checking your dog for lumps? Please feel free to leave your answer in the comments so other dog parents can check it out, too.

Naturally Treating Mast Cell Tumors in Dogs the Right Way

Supporting your dog during cancer with the best care and support while doing away with invasive—not to mention costly—procedures can be challenging. However, Mother Nature’s medicine cabinet has a lot to offer, and you will be amazed with the things you’ll discover.

Allow me to give you a walkthrough on some of the natural options you can go for to support your dog when he is diagnosed with a mast cell tumor.

#1: Red clover

Red clover is rich in compounds that have been seen to act as natural cleaning agents and helps get rid of disease cells. A pinch of red clover mixed in with your dog’s meal is already enough to harness these beneficial compounds.

#2: Alfalfa

Alfalfa is packed with flavonoids that cause tumor cells to shrink. Start by grinding the alfalfa finely. Make sure you remove the seeds and stems first. A tiny pinch of this powdered alfalfa added to your dog’s meal will suffice.

#3: Burdock root

Burdock root helps optimize the extraction of waste and toxins from the dog’s body and keeps liver function ideal. Boiling a cup of water with a tablespoon of fresh or dried burdock root makes cleansing tea. A tablespoon of this per meal is already adequate.

Natural Product for Dog Mast Cell Tumor Inspired by Mother Nature

And now here’s something you should consider including in your home pet care checklist when it comes to supporting your canine family member during mast cell tumors in dogs…

Zumalka’s PIPTOPET is made from a medicinal mushroom called the Fomitopsis betulina. This medicinal mushroom is backed by scientific research to exhibit various biological activities against cancer cells and other anti-cancer properties.

This premium natural product is designed to not just promote a healthy immune system in dogs, but also support them during cancer. Moreover, PIPTOPET can also be used in addition to more traditional treatments, such as chemotherapy.

But don’t just take my word for it. I’d like to share some positive feedback from dog parents who have already used Piptopet on their beloved canine family member. Let’s start things off by checking out what Jim and Leslie have to say:

“I wanted to tell you, thanks to Homeoanimal.com, with the use of Piptopet, I do believe that when our dog Josie was in stage III mast cell cancer, Piptopet is what gave us two more years.”

Thank you so much, Jim and Leslie! Now, here’s another one from Lawrence:

“My dog was diagnosed with a mast cell tumor. We had several chemo treatments and I had her on Piptopet, which seemed to help support her. I added the cancer mushrooms when she developed more tumors and now she’s feeling great and full of energy. The tumors have seemed to disappear.”

We really appreciate your kind words, Lawrence! And finally, here’s one from Lisa:

“Our dog, Buddy, had a grade 3 mast cell tumor removed last August. We were advised to do a chemo and radiation due to the aggressive nature of the tumor. We opted to try a natural approach and found Piptopet online. As of May, Buddy has not shown any sign of illness. We are very happy that Piptopet seems to be working.”

Thank you very much, Lisa!

The Connection between the Severity of Mast Cell Tumor in Dogs and Life Expectancy

You need to know that the life expectancy of a dog afflicted with a mast cell tumor depends on how much the cancer has spread in the body. Mast cell tumors are classified into grades, which relates to its severity. The higher the grade means the higher its severity rate.

Let me give you a quick example so you can understand it better. So a dog with a grade 1 mast cell tumor can still live many years because it’s still quite small and has not spread to other parts of the body.

On the other hand, a dog with a grade 3 mast cell tumor is only expected to live up to four to six months because the disease has already advanced to other parts of the system. Now, here’s where things get really tricky…

Conventional Treatments for Mast Cell Tumors are more than just Painful for your Pet

A dog with an advanced state of mast cell tumor is typically subjected to surgery with a follow up of chemotherapy and radiation along the way, too. Not only are these procedures invasive—meaning very painful and traumatic for your beloved canine family member—but they can also be quite expensive.

This is the reason why naturally boosting and supporting your pet's immune system health as early as now is crucial because it can make him or her more resilient to disease, especially against cancer. PIPTOPET is one such natural option that you can go for.

Hello! My name is Joseph and I’m desperately seeking a holistic alternative to dangerous chemo/radiation treatment for my dog Shelby who has mass cell tumors. A friend of mine lost their do to the same cancer and unfortunately the chemo led to tremendous suffering prior to death. I used natural healing when I had colon cancer in 2003 and I’m still alive. I’d like to know the most effective mass cell tumor treatments you have available. I read about alfalfa but I do not know which supplements would be best. I would greatly appreciate any brands you are sure work well for my fur baby. Any recommendations of products would greatly be appreciated.

    Joseph
